Tonight, the school board had the privilege of hearing directly from students as they shared their inspiring Learner Interest Day experiences—highlighting how the day opened doors to new interests and future career possibilities. The board also received an overview of the program and its meaningful impact across the District. We are deeply grateful to the many business and community partners whose support brings these opportunities to life for our learners. The evening also included a special moment of recognition, as Christina Berger was celebrated for being named a Regional Teacher of the Year in South Dakota. We are #TigerProud! 🐾

We’re proud to celebrate the impact of Artability, a downtown Sioux Falls event that showcases the creativity and talent of individuals with disabilities while bringing together students, families, and staff to promote inclusion, build confidence, and create meaningful connections. Through collaboration between departments, students are given opportunities to express themselves and take pride in their unique abilities. In that same spirit of empowering student voice, middle school students are also developing their public speaking skills through integrated classroom experiences, with selected students earning the opportunity to present their original speeches at the National Oratory Festival at Ford’s Theatre and on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC—an unforgettable experience that highlights the power of student expression and connection.
