Next week, May 6th - May 10th, Student Council would like to invite all staff and students to dress-up for our annual "Spring-Fling" week. Let's celebrate successfully completing Smarter Balance assessments and welcome in spring! Maybe this additional fun will welcome warmer weather as well.
Each day student council members will be handing out tickets to those deemed "best dressed". If you receive a ticket, you must place them in the drawing baskets in the office. Each day 3 per grade/staff will be drawn for a prize. We will keep all tickets and at the end of the week we will draw 5 grand prize drawings!
The dress up days are as follows:
Monday - Sports Attire
Tuesday - Neon Day
Wednesday - Hawaiian Day
Thursday - Twin/Trio Day
Friday - HNMS Day (6th- Maroon, 7th - Gold, 8th - Black, Staff - All)

🚧 Minnesota Avenue Construction 🚧
Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday April 3rd, construction will begin on SD-115/Minnesota Avenue. Construction will be completed in phases over two years, with the first phase taking place between just south of the Minnesota/Willow St. Intersection north to the Apple Orchard.
No other traffic, other than local traffic, will be able to travel on Minnesota during this time.
For the time being, the contractor will allow our students coming from the west on 110/Willow St. to turn north on to 115/Minnesota Ave. to get to Tiger Way from 7:30 – 8:00am.
After 8am, and for the rest of the day, all traffic will need to enter & exit through the SOUTH of the school (onto Willow St.) and may proceed east or west from there.
Affected bus routes will not change until fall, and further details will be provided at that time. Please encourage students to drive along paved routes.

Parents of North Middle School Track Participants:
We are excited that your son/daughter has decided to participate in our middle school track program! We would just like to touch base with everyone and answer some of your questions before the season begins.
We are currently experiencing some growing pains and based on student sign-ups we will have record highs of students out for track and field. In order to accommodate the high volume of students we will start with a modified schedule. Coaches are asking athletes to dedicate March 25th to May 9th to Track and make every effort to attend practice and compete.
****PLEASE make sure your child has an updated physical on file at the High School office.
Practice runs on a daily basis from 3:15-5:00. Coaches should be notified as soon as possible if your child will not attend practice. Failure to do so will jeopardize events and participation in Meets.
Students should bring a water bottle and bring clothing appropriate for going outside in South Dakota spring weather. We will make every attempt to go outside. Lockers are available for issue to store items.
Please fill out attached emergency contact information using the following https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdR2_mkpGdkdBFedY0ZYTD9eepq2QUnDChse9-qMO4XFBYE-w/viewform. If you have more than one child please fill a form out for each athlete.

⚠️ We are hearing that the roads in the country are in tough shape, with water going over some of them. This may be a good day for you to consider alternate options of the best way for you to get your children home if you live outside of town. Our buses will travel where possible, but with conditions changing constantly, we cannot guarantee we will get down each road. Please consider your best options under the circumstances.
